Psychotherapy, Psychoanalysis, and Evaluative Services

Therapy sessions usually span 45 to 60 minutes. During the first session we will discuss the history and current concerns that brought you to seek support. This time together gives us an opportunity to consider options, strategies, and ways to achieve your goals.

While the benefits of a psychological evaluation, psychotherapy, or other treatments are generally likely to outweigh possible risks, the outcomes and side effects cannot be predicted with certainty. Persons being evaluated or involved in therapy may experience a wide range of emotions, and it is not unusual to feel vulnerable or stressed.

The therapeutic experience may arouse feelings or produce insights of which you were unaware, or which you might not wish to experience. The goals of psychological and evaluative services are generally to advance the understanding of problems and to increase functioning and well-being which require addressing uncomfortable material you might have tried to avoid heretofore. This therapy time becomes an opportunity you’ve created for yourself to work through issues!

Adult Individual Treatment

We deeply believe most people want happiness and health. We also think attaining and maintaining happiness and health are generally hard work.

Couples Treatments

Being single or in a relationship each comes with its own set of advantages and challenges, and these can shift at different stages of life.

If you wish to use your health insurance, you would be utilizing out-of-network benefits. We will complete your insurance forms and provide an invoice for each unit of service rendered with all of the necessary information for you to file a claim. If this arrangement is not viable for you, we will gladly review a list of providers that accept your insurance and make recommendations if our sliding and low fee space is filled.

Sessions are billed weekly or monthly and are payable by cash, check, or electronic payment. If you have a Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Savings Account (FSA), you are generally permitted to use funds from these accounts for payment for psychological services. Please check the details of your HSA or FSA plan to verify covered service.

We take privacy extremely seriously. Only if you can trust that what is said remains private will you be able to do the intensely vulnerable work required of a fully successful therapeutic experience. We will discuss with you during the first session how each of us assures your privacy in our office space and ask of any special requests you might have of us.
